Susannah McAlwey - Major Events Coordinator

Susannah is Major Events Coordinator for the Edmund Rice Institute for Social Justice, Fremantle. She is organising a number of events for 2008, including a community service skills one day workshop, a three day conference on Church Understandings of Social Justice, and a Concert for Social Justice in December that coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Susannah has a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) and a Masters of Science (IT). She has experience in marketing, recruitment, sales, web design, fundraising and events management, and has worked in a variety of industries including IT, Education, and Not-for-Profits.

Susannah has most recently worked for charity organizations in Fundraising and Events Management roles. This has involved organizing a range of events, including including fashion parades, corporate golf days, seminars, raffles, and signature sporting events as well as being responsible for sponsorship, membership, direct mail campaigns, fundraising, marketing and promotions.

As a newcomer to a Social Justice working environment, Susannah looks forward to learning more about social justice issues and becoming involved in raising awareness about it for events.

She is busy enjoying raising her young son Benjamin, but when finds time loves swimming, salsa dancing, golf, scuba diving, cooking, going to the beach and seeing her close family and friends.
