City Farm Multicultrual Markets

CITY FARM MULTICULTURAL MARKETS

Perth City Farm is launching its Multicultural Market on Saturday Nov 29th 2008, from 9 am to 1 pm.  During December we will continue our Multicultural Markets on Saturday Dec 13th and Saturday Dec 20th.  The markets will be filled with celebrations of the many cultures that make up the Perth community. The festival will provide the opportunity for community groups and stallholders to showcase their talents, product and uniqueness of their culture while also giving visitors a chance to buy at our Certified Organic Growers Market.

Over these three Saturdays we will involve diverse cultures from African, Indigenous Australian, Ukrainian, Brazilian, Middle Eastern, Indian and Malaysian. There will be food, arts & crafts stalls, cooking and gardening demonstrations, camel rides, childrens’ activities, face painting and a special circus workshop by Kristina – Aerial Diva. On these Saturdays we will feature: music and dance performances from Akwaaba (African drumming),  Brazilian Samba Drumming,  Elias Entertainment Bellydancers and Tabla, Ukrainian Youth Association Dancing Group, Flamenco Cafe Del Mar,  Rusichi Folk Dance/Song Group (Russian).

Why should people go to the Festival? To share and participate in cultures from around the world - a chance for people from all ages and backgrounds to experience diverse cultures, while being entertained and given the opportunity to buy Organic produce and even learn a bit more about the environment.
